Step2 Doorway Playhouse    $79.99  This is a great alternative if you don't have the room for a complete playhouse set. Place it across a doorway or use it freestanding. Open the bottom door separately and you have a crawl-thru tunnel. There is a mailbox with opening door, a working doorbell and a peephole.

People who bought this loved the simplicity of it.  Because it doesn't actually attach to the doorway, it is easy to move if an adult needs to get access.  Some people even used it as a pet barrier! You can easily turn their bedroom into a fun playroom with this doorway playhouse or even use it as the basis for building a cubby house in the middle of the room. Great value at under $80.

Step2 Naturally Playful Lookout Treehouse    $115.54    This elevated playhouse in a treehouse design is perfect for little ones who love to climb. The treehouse section features a 19 inch high platform that is accessed by 3 easy to climb steps.  Once up there, your little one can keep 'lookout' with the pivoting periscope that really works!  Coming down is super fun on the attached slide and the treehouse roof offers protection from the sun and weather.

Reviews of the Step2 Lookout Treehouse are overwhelmingly positive.  People found this playset excellent for both inside and outside use, meaning it could be used all year round.  It is recommended for climbers as young as 18 months and is easy to assemble. The slide can be removed if desired and the unit can be backed against a wall and used as a fort. Step2 Four Seasons Playhouse - Pink/Purple    $118.99  This colorful playset is compact but still packed with features to keep your kids busy. It comes with a full floor, a built-in table, working doorbell and mailbox. There are two molded-in chairs and eight molded-in shelves to optimize space.  The twin coach lights add a homey touch.

As long as you are aware that this is one of Step2's smaller sets, then this shouldn't disappoint. Many reviewers felt that the compact size was an advantage in that it could be moved inside and outside with ease. Many also liked the open and airy feel which made it perfect for summer use.

Step2 Neat & Tidy Cottage    $179.99  If keeping the playhouse clean is important to your little one or perhaps just you, then this Neat & Tidy Cottage is perfect.  It has a molded-in floor with drain holes to keep dirt out as well as an in-built kitchen table and two seats.  This set also features dutch door and shutters, an interactive electronic phone, working doorbell and a mailslot.

People who purchased the Step2 Neat & Tidy Cottage have commented on the generous size which allows multiple toddlers to play inside in comfort while still being compact enough to place inside if desired.  They liked the fact that adults are able to see what is going on due to the open design and the built in floor is also a huge bonus. Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber    $299.99  Another great playset for the keen climber this one allows toddlers to climb a ladder to reach a 27 inch high platform with steering wheel and then exit on the slide. There is a rock wall on either side for more climbing challenges and the area under the platform makes a great play area for more imaginative play.

Reviews show this to be a very popular play set amongst both kids and carers.  It is compact in size but still provides plenty of activities for young ones who are on the go.  The under platform area is also a big plus and can be turned into a fort or sand pit quite easily. It also provides a welcome shade area on sunny days.

Step2 Sweetheart Playhouse    $328.47  If you have a girly girl then she will absolutely love this playhouse. Designed to resemble a gingerbread-style house the full-length door, working shutters and window flower-pot add to the charm.  Inside you will find a battery powered cordless phone, clock and range top that converts into an outdoor bbq grill.

Reviewers commented on how sturdy this playhouse is once constructed and that the overall look of the house is very appealing.  They also mentioned that the working doorbell and phone were a great hit with the kids.  Installation was said to be relatively quick and easy and the structure is suitable for either inside or outside use.

Step2 Naturally Playful Front Porch Playhouse    $344.99  The front porch with built-in bench makes this playhouse a real winner. Inside there is a sink with swivel faucet and stove top. The roof has a skylight to make the interior nice and light.  There are shutters on the windows, a mail slot and a battery operated doorchime and play phone.

Owners of this play set are generally impressed with the quality of construction and the overall look.  The porch does reduce the inside play area so bear this in mind if you consider purchasing.  This set also lacks the overall height of some of the others in this price range so is more suited to the under 3yrs age group.

Step2 Neighborhood Fun Center    $349.99  If your kids are the extra active type then this playset is sure to please.  More than just a playhouse this set includes a 4 foot slide, activity wall with ring toss and crawl-thru rotating door, there is a snack table with built-in counter and two seats and even a doggy door.

Buyers of this set found it ideal as a first playset that kids could grow into.  With so many activities built into it the Fun Center is able to keep children of varying ages entertained at the same time.  It is suitable for indoor or outdoor play and particularly suited to children who have a love of crawling and climbing.

Step2 Gather & Grille Playhouse    $376.17  This is one of the larger playhouse sets and has an outdoor patio area with built-in grill and bench for two. Inside there is a kitchen sink and a fake fireplace with mantel. It also comes with a 5 piece cooking accessory set. There is also a working doorbell which kids seem to love.

Reviews of this playhouse commented on the generous room enhanced by the open and airy design.  This set is said to be able to accommodate multiple children comfortably thanks to the inside and outside play areas.  The grill itself is a highlight with its opening lid design. Overall this playhouse is well suited to either boys or girls making it very versatile.

Step2 Naturally Playful Welcome Home Playhouse    $399.00  This classically styled playhouse has 2 bay windows, a peaked roof with skylight and a welcome mat.  Inside you will find a built-in kitchen with sink, stove, storage cupboard and a fold down table. Battery operated phone and doorbell add to the real feel.

Reviewers felt that this play house was big enough for two adults to sit inside and play with their child. The extra space allows for play furniture to be added if needed without taking up too much play room.  This is considered a good buy if you are wanting to get many years of use as your child grows.

Step2 Naturally Playful Storybook Cottage  $449.99   This playhouse is a really charming design. The full length door features a working doorbell.  Inside you will find a drop-leaf table, kitchenette, and pretend clock with moveable hands and a battery operated phone.  One of the windows even has working shutters to open and close.  There is plenty of room inside to add some additional furniture if desired.

Reviewers were generally delighted with the overall look, how spacious the interior is and how sturdy the cottage is (a feature of all Step2 playhouses).  The only complaints were in relation to a previous 'tunnel' feature which has been removed from current designs due to safety issues.
